Results of the II round of the IV International Violin Competition. Yankelevich

April 27, 2018 was the second round of competitive auditions in the senior age category of the IV International Violin Competition. Y. Yankelevich.

According to the regulations of the competition, all contestants were to perform one sonata and one miniature at the participant’s choice, solo or piano, as well as a modern play (from the second half of the 20th century to the present) with a duration of no more than 12 minutes and a virtuoso play – one for the participant’s choice .

All the performers in the senior age category showed excellent mastery and technique of performance.

The first, in order to draw, was the contestant from Russia, Fyodor Beznosikov, performing the works of L. Beethoven, V. Lutoslavsky, K. Debussy and M. Ravel.

The second on stage was Maria Dueneas from Spain. In the first round she impressed everyone with the virtuosic performance of WA Mozart. For the II round she chose Sonata for violin and piano by JS Bach, “Chinese tambourine” by F. Kreisler, “Subito” by V. Lutoslawski and Rondo-capriccioso K. Saint-Saens.

Then came the contestant from Japan Aimee Vakui. A student at the Mozarteum University in Austria presented to the jury a second Sonata Ravel, plays by F. Kreisler, V. Lutoslavsky and F. Schubert.

Performances of the contestants were continued by Elias David Moncado (Germany). Highly recommended by the results of the first round of the contestant in the second round brought the bow, hair erased, and the musician had to rebuild the violin right at the time of execution.

In the second part of the contest day, the jury program was represented by Yun Tang (China), Dmitry Borodin (Russia), Masha Lakisova (USA) and Stepan Starikov (Russia).

The program presented by the participants was diverse and rather complicated, sonatas of Schumann, Shostakovich, Izai, Prokofiev, Bloch, Schnittke, Saint-Saens, Rachmaninov, Gershwin and Williams sounded.

After the end of the auditions, the jury retired to make a difficult decision – the definition of four worthy final round of the contestants. And here is the verdict of the jury: Fedor Beznosikov (Russia), Maria Dueneas (Spain), Amy Vacui (Japan), Yun Tan (China) will continue the contest program in the finals.

They will have to leave on April 30, 2018 on the stage of the Concert Hall and demonstrate their skills in the program IIIthura of the contest with the Omsk Academic Symphony Orchestra.

April 30 will be the final competitive tours in both groups. The honorary president of the contest Vladimir Spivakov will personally attend them.
