Haftor Björnson (Isle of Hafþór Björnsson) – Icelandic sportsman and actor, multiple prize-winner of the competition for the title “The strongest man in the world”. Hafthor Julius Björnson was born on November 26, 1988 in Reykjavik, Iceland. The great growth of Hafthor (206 cm) in his family is the norm: his father’s height is 203 cm and his grandfather is 207 cm. Hafthor studied at Bradholt College.
He started a professional sports career in 2006 as a basketball player. He played on the spot for the Icelandic clubs “K.R. Basket Reykjavík »(2006-2007) and« FSu Selfoss basketball »(2007-2008). Since 2008, after a knee injury, he left basketball and retrained for power extreme. Three times (in 2010, 2011 and 2012) was recognized as the strongest person in Iceland.
