In the city of Arles in the necropolis of Alikamp there was a display of the Gucci cruise collection. An ancient Roman cemetery was supplemented with candles, artificial mist and a fiery strip along the “podium”. This time there were no heads – the models wore bouquets and large Catholic crosses on chains. Among the images of the collection were many Victorian dresses and mantle capes, similar either to the clothes of priests, or sorcerers.

This year the brand Sonia Rykiel celebrates its 50th anniversary. In honor of this, the French Fashion Federation invited the brand to join the haute couture week in Paris. Creative director Sonia Rykiel Julie de Libran will show a special collection of L’Atelier on the couture week – the presentation will take place on July 1 at 11:00 (12:00 Moscow time) at the National Higher School of Fine Arts in Paris.

The film about Studio 54 (Studio 54), which premiered at the Sundance Festival in January, finally received an official trailer. A documentary picture tells about the legendary nightclub, which opened in 1977 in New York in the building of the former theater at the intersection of 54th Street in Manhattan and Broadway. The club worked only three years, but was famous for loud parties, hard face control and the public – among the regulars were Andy Warhol, Mick and Bianca Jagger, John Travolta, Kelvin Klein and others – and influenced the development of club culture. The director was Matt Tiernauer. The film included archival footage and interviews with visitors and one of the founders of the club, Jan Shrager. The film will be released on June 15.

Recently, Louis Vuitton presented a collection of accessories dedicated to the World Cup, and now they take it to Moscow. From May 30 to July 31, the Crocus City Mall in Moscow will operate a pop-up shop where you can buy items from the collection. Also there will be a chest with a collection of copies of official FIFA balls – all 13, which were used in the Championship matches, since 1970.

Dior released a short film Legend of the Magic Hour (“Legend of the Magic Hour”) in honor of the fragrance of Sauvage. The main character was Johnny Depp – the actor had previously acted as the face of the fragrance. Dapp acted as the narrator of the ancient legend of the Navajo Indians, which talks about the coyote – the creator of the Milky Way and the Great Deceiver. According to legend, with sunset the spirit of a coyote comes to the earth and fools people.

In the staff of the opening Ceremony, there were serious cuts: 23 employees were dismissed in the last two weeks. Among them were also people from the design team. Co-founder Opening Ceremony Carol Lim said that the management is trying to “optimize” the processes and take the right steps to “ensure the future” of the brand: “We felt that this is really right for business, we wanted to remain productive.” At the same time, she claims that the brand is growing, although there are no plans to open new stores this year.
